Structural Description of Heat Exchanger Bending Machine

Nov 10, 2025

A bending machine is a crucial piece of equipment in the sheet metal industry, used to bend and form workpieces. Its function is to press steel plates into various shapes according to process requirements. As shown in the "Schematic Diagram of Hydraulic Sheet Metal Bending Machine," the main components consist of left and right columns, a worktable, and a crossbeam forming the frame. Left and right hydraulic cylinders are fixed to the columns. The slider is connected to the pistons of the cylinders and moves up and down along guide rails fixed to the columns. The lower die is fixed to the worktable, and the upper die is installed at the lower end of the slider. The hydraulic system provides power, and the electrical system issues commands. Under the action of the cylinders, the slider drives the upper die downwards to close with the lower die, thus bending the sheet metal. The left and right columns, the worktable, and the slider (hereinafter referred to as the three main components) are the key parts of the bending machine, accounting for 70% to 80% of the total weight of a bending machine. Their strength and rigidity directly determine the machine's operating accuracy, service life, and the precision of the workpiece.

Slider Section: Utilizing hydraulic transmission, the slider section consists of a slider, hydraulic cylinders, and a mechanical stop fine-tuning structure.

1. Hydraulic Cylinders: Left and right hydraulic cylinders are fixed to the frame. Hydraulic pressure causes the piston (rod) to move the slider up and down. The mechanical stop is controlled and adjusted by a CNC system.

2. Worktable Section: Operated by a button box, the motor drives the stop frame to move back and forth. The distance of movement is controlled by the CNC system, with a minimum reading of 0.01 mm (limit switches are available for both forward and backward positions).

3.Synchronization System: The machine uses a mechanical synchronization mechanism composed of a torsion shaft, swing arm, and spherical bearings. It has a simple structure, stable and reliable performance, and high synchronization accuracy. The mechanical stop is adjusted by a motor, and the value is controlled by the CNC system.

4. Stop Mechanism: The stop is driven by a motor, which drives two lead screws to move synchronously via a chain. The stop size is controlled by the CNC system.
